# Freshping shut down. Your sites still need watching.

Freshworks pulled the plug on Freshping in March 2026, and there is no replacement coming. If you are looking for somewhere solid to land, Oh Dear watches uptime, SSL, broken links, DNS, cron jobs, and more from one dashboard.

We are not free like Freshping was. We are also not going anywhere, and we do a great deal more than a simple ping.

Let's be straight with you

## Oh Dear isn't free. Freshping was, and look how that ended.

We could dress this up, but you would see through it. Freshping cost nothing, and that is exactly the kind of product a big company axes when priorities shift. You are here because it happened.

Here is the thing about "free" monitoring in 2026: most of it now comes with strings. UptimeRobot's free tier has been non-commercial-use-only since late 2024, so if you are watching client or business sites, you are paying somewhere regardless. The honest question isn't "free or paid," it is "what do I get, and will it still be here next year?"

Oh Dear starts at $17/month, every check type included, and you can try the whole thing for 10 days without handing over a card.

Built to still be here

## Monitoring is our whole business, not a free add-on someone can cut

Freshworks said it best in their own shutdown notice: supporting Freshping was "no longer part of our go forward plan." When monitoring is one small tile inside a giant suite, that is always a risk. It can be switched off the moment it stops moving the needle for the parent company.

Oh Dear is different by design. We are independent, we are profitable, and website monitoring is the only thing we do. It is built and run by a small team that answers your support emails personally. There is no roadmap meeting where "should we keep doing this" is even a question. This is the thing we do.

More than a ping

## Everything Freshping watched, and a lot it never did

Freshping checked if your site was up and gave you a status page. Useful, but it is a small slice of what actually breaks a website. Oh Dear keeps an eye on the rest, too.

[SSL certificate health

We warn you 30, 14, and 7 days before a certificate expires, and catch chain issues that throw browser warnings. Freshping didn't watch this at all.

](https://ohdear.app/features/continuous-certificate-monitoring) [Broken links & mixed content

We crawl your whole site daily and flag dead links and insecure content before your visitors trip over them.

](https://ohdear.app/features/broken-page-and-mixed-content-detection) [Lighthouse audits

Track performance, SEO, accessibility, and Core Web Vitals over time, and get alerted when scores slip.

](https://ohdear.app/features/lighthouse-seo-monitoring) [DNS & domain expiry

We track DNS changes and tell you before a domain lapses, so nobody loses a site to a missed renewal.

](https://ohdear.app/features/dns-monitoring) [Cron & scheduled tasks

Know the moment a backup or scheduled job doesn't run, instead of finding out when you need it.

](https://ohdear.app/features/scheduled-task-monitoring) [AI checks

Describe a check in plain English ("the login form works", "prices are showing") and we verify it for you.

Moving over

## You'll be set up in a few minutes

There is no Freshping export to wrestle with, because that data is already gone. So you are starting clean, and we made that painless.

1. 1Add your sites. Paste in the sites you were watching on Freshping. If you kept an export, your list of URLs is all you need.
2. 2We work out the checks. Point us at a site and we set up uptime, SSL, and the rest for you. Tweak anything you like.
3. 3Invite your team. Every plan includes unlimited users, so bring everyone in and route alerts to the right people.
4. 4Publish a status page. Freshping gave you five. We give you as many as you want, on every plan.

## Running an agency?

A lot of agencies leaned on Freshping's free status pages for client sites. If that was you, watching every client from one account, with branded reports and status pages, is worth a look.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Oh Dear free like Freshping was?

No, and we would rather be upfront about it. Freshping was free, and Freshworks shut it down anyway. Oh Dear is a paid product, which is exactly why it is still here and still being worked on every week. You can try everything for 10 days without a credit card, and paid plans start at $17/month with every check type included.

### Can I import my Freshping monitors into Oh Dear?

There is no automatic import, and honestly there is nothing left to import from: Freshping deleted its customer data roughly 90 days after the 6 March 2026 shutdown. The good news is setup is quick. Add your sites, and we work out which [checks](https://ohdear.app/features/website-uptime-monitoring) to run for each one. Most people are up and running in a few minutes.

### When exactly did Freshping shut down?

Freshworks disabled free Freshping accounts on 6 March 2026 and deleted customer data around 90 days later, in early June 2026. Their own notice put it plainly: supporting Freshping was "no longer part of our go forward plan." There is no replacement product from Freshworks.

### What does Oh Dear monitor that Freshping never did?

Freshping checked whether your site was up and gave you a status page. Oh Dear does that and a lot more: [SSL certificate health](https://ohdear.app/features/continuous-certificate-monitoring), [broken links and mixed content](https://ohdear.app/features/broken-page-and-mixed-content-detection) across your whole site, [Lighthouse audits](https://ohdear.app/features/lighthouse-seo-monitoring), [DNS](https://ohdear.app/features/dns-monitoring) and [domain expiry](https://ohdear.app/features/domain-monitoring), [cron and scheduled task monitoring](https://ohdear.app/features/scheduled-task-monitoring), [application health](https://ohdear.app/features/application-health-monitoring), and [AI checks](https://ohdear.app/features/ai-monitoring) that verify things in plain English.

### How much does Oh Dear cost?

Plans start at $17/month, and every plan includes every check type, unlimited users, and unlimited status pages. You are billed per site you watch, not per feature and not per seat. See the [full pricing](https://ohdear.app/pricing) for the details.

### I only want a free up/down ping, where should I go?

Fair enough, and we will point you honestly: if free is the only requirement, [Uptime Kuma](https://github.com/louislam/uptime-kuma) is a solid open-source option you host yourself. Just know that most "free" hosted tiers now come with strings (UptimeRobot's free plan, for example, has been non-commercial-use-only since late 2024), so for a business site you tend to pay somewhere regardless. If you want more than a ping, that is where Oh Dear earns its keep.
