Why am I receiving Slack alerts?

We support two different Slack integrations, and the most common reason for unexpected Slack alerts is that you have the legacy Slack webhook channel enabled alongside (or instead of) the newer Slack API integration.

  • Slack (legacy webhook): the old-school incoming webhook integration. Still works, but doesn't show channel pickers or richer formatting.
  • Slack (API): our newer integration that lets you pick channels, show richer previews, and handle multiple workspaces cleanly.

To check which one is firing, head to your monitor's notification settings and look for the Slack destinations listed. If you see more than one, that's your answer.

From the monitor page, go to Notifications, find the Slack entries, and remove any legacy webhook configurations you no longer want. The Slack API destinations are labelled as "Slack" in the notification settings; the legacy ones show up as "Slack (webhook)".

If you're still getting unexpected alerts after cleaning up, reach out and we'll help you trace where they're coming from.
