From checks to a record

An alert is for today. A report is for last month.

Your team needs an alert when a site breaks. Your client may ask later what happened across the month. The monthly report gives you a dated record to discuss.

Choose the checks that belong in this report.

Monthly reports are opt-in per monitor. For each client site, choose the sections: uptime, performance, broken links, certificate health, Lighthouse and other supported checks. A site with no sections selected sends no report.

On the first of each month, Oh Dear creates the report for the month before and emails it to the addresses on that monitor. Send it to your team, to the client, or both. Each monitor takes up to five recipients.

What goes into a report, who receives it, and how clients can read it.

What does a monthly report include?

It summarizes the Oh Dear checks you select for that monitor. Sections include uptime, performance, broken links, certificate health, Lighthouse, sitemap and other supported checks. You choose the sections per client site.

Do all client sites receive monthly reports?

No. Monthly reporting is opt-in per monitor. You choose which client sites send a report, and which checks each report includes.

Can I email the report directly to a client?

Yes. Add up to five recipient addresses for that monitor. Oh Dear emails the previous month's report on the first of the month. Recipients can open the report link in a browser without an Oh Dear account.

Can I review it before the client receives it?

Send the report to your own team only, check it, and forward the link to the client. If you add the client as a recipient, they receive the email directly.

Can I use my agency's logo?

Yes. Your team logo appears at the top of monthly reports, and you can choose an accent color. A small "powered by Oh Dear" mark stays at the bottom, so this is not full white-labeling.

Can I retrieve a past report?

Yes. Oh Dear keeps every past report in the site's Monthly reports screen. Each one stays available on its own browser link.

Can a client see their own site between reports?

Yes. Invite the client as a guest and limit their access to selected monitors and status pages. Guest access is separate from the report link, which needs no account.

Is this the same as a status page?

No. A monthly report covers the check results of the month before. A status page shows the current state of selected monitors and helps you communicate during an incident.

Is monthly reporting included on every plan?

Yes. Monthly reports and every monitoring feature are on every plan. You choose a plan by the number of sites you monitor.
