Oh Dear

My Forge import stopped. How do I fix my API token?

Forge reorganized their API around organizations and scoped tokens. API tokens created before that change carry no scopes, so Forge now rejects them and Oh Dear can't read your servers and sites. When that happens we pause your Forge import and email you.

The good news: you don't need a brand-new token. Your existing one just needs two extra permissions.

Add the scopes in Forge #

  1. Open your Forge API tokens, find the token you gave Oh Dear, and choose Edit from its ... menu.
  2. Under Scopes, enable organization:view and server:view.
  3. Click Save changes.

It's the same token with the same value, so there's nothing to copy or re-paste.

Turn the import back on #

Head to your Forge import settings in Oh Dear and switch the Forge import enabled toggle back on. We'll start picking up your tagged servers and sites again on the next run (we check every five minutes).

If you'd already deleted that token, just create a new one in Forge with those same two scopes and paste it into Oh Dear instead.
