How do I change the email address that receives alerts?
Open the monitor (or team) notification settings and edit the email channel. That's where the alert email address lives.
It's separate from your billing email, which is managed in Stripe. If that's what you meant to change, see this FAQ instead.
Change the alert email for a specific monitor
- Open the monitor you care about.
- Go to Notifications.
- Click the email notification channel to edit it.
- Update the email address.
- Save.
Alerts for that monitor now go to the new address.
Change the default alert email for the whole team
If you set up alerts at the team level (so new monitors inherit them automatically), update them in Team settings > Notifications:
- Find the email notification destination.
- Edit the email address.
- Save.
Any new monitors inherit the updated email. Existing monitors keep the email they were configured with at creation, so if you want a team-wide change, you may need to update individual monitors too.
Sending alerts to multiple addresses
You can add multiple email notification channels to the same monitor. Each one delivers to a different address. Some teams use this to send critical alerts to a pager-duty mailbox and informational alerts to a general team inbox. Each channel can be configured with different event types.
