How do I transfer ownership of my Oh Dear team?
Team ownership in Oh Dear can be transferred from the current owner to another team member. The owner is the person on the hook for billing and has the full Admin-level access to the team, so the process is deliberate.
Before you transfer team ownership
- The new owner needs to be a team member of the team. If they aren't yet, invite them first from Team settings > Users.
- They must accept the invitation and log in at least once before you can make them the owner.
- Only the current owner can initiate the transfer.
Transferring ownership
- Open Team settings > General.
- Scroll to Change team owner.
- Pick the new owner from the list.
- Confirm the transfer.
From that moment on, the new owner sees the billing page, controls the plan, and has full admin access. The previous owner becomes a regular admin (unless you demote them further), which keeps them able to add monitors and manage the team without being on the hook for billing.
The previous owner can't do it (or has left the company)
If the current owner is no longer available, contact support from an email address tied to your team domain. We'll help you work through the handover, typically by verifying ownership of the domain through DNS or through a prior invoice.
