How do I update my billing address or add a VAT number?
Billing address and tax-ID details live in the Stripe customer portal, not directly in Oh Dear.
- Open the Billing page.
- Click Manage subscription on Billing portal to open the Stripe portal.
- Scroll to the Billing Information section.
- Update your billing address, company name, and (if applicable) your EU VAT number or other tax ID.
- Save.
The changes apply to your next invoice, not the ones already issued. If you need a previous invoice reissued with the updated details, contact support with the invoice number and the corrected info, and we'll reissue it.
EU VAT and the reverse-charge mechanism
If you add a valid EU VAT number and your billing country isn't Belgium, Stripe applies the reverse-charge mechanism automatically on future invoices (VAT is shifted to the buyer, no VAT charged on our side). Belgian customers always pay Belgian VAT, regardless of VAT number.
VAT numbers are validated against VIES when you save them. Occasionally VIES is unavailable and validation fails temporarily. If that happens, wait a few minutes and try again.
Structured e-invoicing (Peppol) for Belgian customers
Belgian customers with a valid Belgian (BE) VAT number receive their invoices via Peppol automatically. If you expect a Peppol delivery and it isn't arriving, let us know with your VAT number and we'll check it on our side.
