How do I update my payment method?

Open the Billing page in your Oh Dear account and click Manage subscription. That takes you to the Stripe customer portal, where you can:

  • Add a new card or payment method
  • Set a new default payment method
  • Remove old or expired cards
  • Switch between card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, SEPA Direct Debit, iDEAL, Bancontact, Revolut Pay, or PayPal (availability depends on your country and currency)

Stripe handles all card data directly. Your card details never touch our servers, which keeps us out of PCI-sensitive territory.

Expired card, failed payment

If your card expires and a renewal fails, we'll email the account billing contact and retry for a few days. You can update the card at any point during that window and we'll re-attempt the charge automatically.

If the card stays broken long enough that the subscription lapses, your account moves to a read-only state. Your monitors keep running, but notifications may be paused. Once you update the payment method and the next charge goes through, everything resumes normally.

Non-admin users can't access billing

Only team admins can manage billing. If you're logged in as a Member or Guest and don't see the billing page, ask an Admin on the team to update the payment method, or have them promote you first.
