Do status page subscribers get notified about updates?

Yes. Anyone who subscribes to your status page gets notified automatically when you post an update.

Status page subscription options

Your status page visitors can subscribe through any of these channels:

  • Email: they enter their email address and confirm the subscription.
  • SMS: they submit a phone number and confirm via a code.
  • RSS/Atom feed: for readers who prefer feed aggregators.
  • Webhook: for downstream systems that should react programmatically to status changes.
  • Slack app: they add the Oh Dear Slack app to their workspace and pick a channel.

Each status page has its own subscriber list. If someone wants updates for multiple status pages, they subscribe to each one separately.

When subscriber notifications fire

Subscribers are notified whenever you post a new status page update (Investigating, Identified, Monitoring, Resolved, or Scheduled). Automatic status transitions triggered by your monitors do not notify subscribers by default, so your users only hear from you when there's something worth saying.

Managing status page subscribers

You can see your subscriber list in the status page settings, including unsubscribe links and subscription sources. Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any email or SMS they receive from us.
